Holthus

Documentary Proposal

A proposal is a thorough explanation of your project. It is created in the pre-production phase to persuade funders, distributors and others to support the project.

1.     Working title: Holthus 

2.     Producers: Brennen and Connor


3.     Controlling idea: You must first write a controlling idea that will describe the premise of your documentary. Use the following template:

My documentary is about The Holthus Family. The main conflict is between him growing up with a famous father/broadcaster. Ultimately, I want the audience to feel interested and to understand that there are hardships.

4.     Main characters: Write a paragraph about EACH of your main characters. For each, include:
a.     Who Mitch and Brian Holthus
b.     Where undecided
c.     What Growing up with a sportscater dad

5.     Conflict: What is at issue in the film?
a.     Who wants what of whom? How did they live
b.     How will one force meet with the other? (Climax) Interview both of them

6.     Plot diagram: Explain the three acts of your project. What will happen in Act I, II and III? The climax should happen at the end of Act II. Interview, Photos, Film

7.     Resolution: Both of them hanging out


8.     Production schedule: After school when we don’t work
